The building of the Van Vredenburch College is composed of a high slab with classrooms and a low volume with various workshops. The entrance is situated at the junction of these two building components; centrally located but dark and cramped. By replacing closed walls with glass curtain walls, more light and transparency are brought into the heart of the building.
The public spaces for students are clustered around and in the entrance hall. The closed façade of the cafeteria is punctuated with large glass doors that give access to the schoolyard, thus connecting these two important social spaces for students.
